Bio
Marianna E. King, 93, of Washington passed away peacefully at 1:45pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born on August 28, 1922 in Peoria the daughter of the late John and Gladys Rachert. She married Donald L. King on June 28, 1941 in Peoria and he passed away on August 11, 2003. One brother Jack also preceded her in death. Surviving are one daughter Linda (late Ken) Vreeland; one grandson Scott (Tressa) Vreeland all of Washington, IL and their children Gracie and Francie. Also surviving are three sisters JoAnn Brooks of Washington, IL Judy Gaul of Bloomington, IL and Janice Spencer of Houston, TX. She was a 1940 graduate of Manual High School in Peoria. She worked for General Telephone Co. for many year’s last working as a secretary before her retirement. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and Black Jack. She enjoyed camping and had many trips to Wisconsin to fish. Marianna was a very kind and giving person who enjoyed spending time with her family but most of all loved being a mom, grandma and being grandma bump to her great granddaughters. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Washington Christian Village, Reflections memory Care-Washington and Transitions Hospice for their compassionate care. A funeral service is scheduled for 11am, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Mason-White Funeral Home with Rev. Yohan Ahn officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior to her service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
