Mayes County Republican (Pryor, Okla.), Thursday, January 31, 1918 Obituary. Miss Josie Duffield was born on the farm near Tahlequah, March 25, 1882. She was converted in 1910 and united with the Methodist church. Her sweet, cheery disposition made her many friends and she was loved by all who knew her. She died at the home of her brother, W.M. Duffield, near Pryor, Tuesday, January 22, 1918, after a few days illness. Services were conducted by Rev. Jno. Hatfield, at the Methodist church in this city, Thursday, January 24. Interment was made in the Fairview Cemetery. She leaves a sister, and five brothers besides other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her death. Her many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved ones. Mrs. Mary Ackley was called here last week by the death of her cousin, Miss Josie Duffield. Mrs. Ackley is visiting relatives and friends in Pryor and vicinity at present. Contributor: Emily Jordan (47063153) •
