Thomas Ray Brown (May 15, 1932 - July 22, 2016) Thomas Ray Brown, Sr., 84, of Wolfe City, passed away Friday, July 22 in Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas. Mr. Brown was born on May 15, 1932 to Thomas Jefferson Brown and Emma Lou Kennedy Brown. He married Arvalene Moore on Nov. 24, 1955 in Lindale, Texas. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was a past Worshipful Master and current treasurer of the Excelsior Lodge 505 in Wolfe City and member First Baptist Church in Wolfe City. Mr. Brown worked for the telephone company for many years and retired as a telephone company contractor laying telephone from Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Survivors are his wife of Wolfe City, three daughters; Sharon Upshaw of Wolfe City, Tammie Cagle of Wolfe City and Tonya Malone and husband Ronald of Wolfe City. One son, Thomas Ray Brown Jr. and wife Lori Matthews Brown of Metairie, La. Along with Ten Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren; one brother, Billy Brown of Palestine, Tx.; two sisters, Dorothy Niehaus of Mineola, Tx. And Martha Henbest of Plano, Tx. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janice Moore and a grandson. Funeral services will he held on Monday, July 25th at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Wolfe City conducted by Bro. Tim Hearn and Bro. Kenneth Ballard. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Military Honors by the Hunt County Honor Guard and Masonic Burial Rites by Excelsior Lodge 505. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City. Pallbearers will be Grandsons; Clint Dishman, Thomas Ray Brown III, Matthew Cagle, Kristopher Malone, Matthew Brown, Jeremy Cagle, Gage Upshaw and Mark Rhea.
