Bio
Mary L. Sanders Rummel Schmidt, age 95, was born in Mobile, Alabama to parents Carver and Almedia Sanders. The family of 12 children moved near Fredricksburg in 1926 then to San Antonio. Mary married John Charles (JC) Rummel in 1938 and they had 5 children. He died in 1961 and in 1966 she married Harold J Schmidt who passed away in 2014 after spending 48 happy years together. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter: Mary Cuda, son Joe Rummel and step daughter Alice Young. She is survived by her three sons: Charlie (Joyce) Rummel, Chester (Deana) Rummel, and Boyce Rummel (Linda Uitvlugt), stepson, Joe (Carolyn) Schmidt; sisters: Tate (Bill) Montalvo and Shannon Eichler; brother; Victor (Ruth) Sanders and many grand children, great grand children, cousins, nephews, and nieces. SERVICES Visitation at Mission Park North on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. where Mary was a devoted member. Pastor Bill Shockley will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park on Austin Highway. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
