Huggins reports the marriage at his home Saturday night at ten o'clock, of Mr. M.V. Knowles and Miss S.E. Laughlin. The groom is a nice young man of the Topsey neighborhood, and is an industrious, energetic and moral young man ready to do his part in life, and will make a model husband. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Laughlin of this city, and has those qualities of mind and heart which will bring her success in life. The Leader joins their many friends in wishing them success, happiness and the best that this life brings. ****************************** Corpus Christi Caller Times Friday 10/11/1957 Marion V Knowles, 70 of Corpus Christi, died Wednesday in Ankara, Turkey while visiting his son Marion O Knowles. He had lived in Corpus Christi since 1936 and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife Mrs Marion V Knowles of Corpus Christi, four daughters: Mrs G T Gower of Luling, Miss Kitty Knowles, Mrs C R Utterback, and Mrs Glen Jackson all of Corpus Christi, 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, The body will be sent to Corpus Christi for funeral services, Arrangements are incomplete. Corpus Christi Caller Times, Sunday October 27, 1957 ************************** Marion V Knowles Funeral Services for Marion V Knowles, 70 will be at 2pm Tuesday at Case-Mills Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Seaside Memorial Park. He died October 8 in Ankara, Turkey while visiting his son (illegible) employed there with the (illegible) department. He had been there for a year. Knowles was a resident of Corpus Christi for 31 years and resided at 1924 Seventeenth. His body will arrive here at 5 pm tomorrow.
