Father: Walter Ossian Smith Mother: Mary DeFord Spouse: Walter Oscar Spencer ------------------------------------------------ Dorothy Patricia Spencer (nee Smith), 83, formerly of Elyria, died December 21, 2007 in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she has been a resident for the past 11 years. She was born March 22, 1924 in Elyria. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1942 and Flora Stone Mather College of Western Reserve University in 1946. She married her husband Walter O. Spencer, in 1947, and was employed at the Glidden Company in Cleveland for several years. Pat was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Elyria and Westminster Suncoast Chorus in St. Petersburg. She was an active community and school volunteer. She enjoyed painting, gardening and travel. Pat is survived by her husband of 60 years, Walter O. Spencer of St. Petersburg; daughter, Mary Spencer Baker (husband Gary) of Medina; son, Walter Elliott Spencer of Greenville, North Carolina; and grandsons, Brian DeFord Baker and Andrew Elliott Baker, both of Medina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Ossian Smith and Mary DeFord Smith. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1 P.M. at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 300 Third Street, Elyria. The Rev. Elaine McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
