Mary Bertha Matcek, 88, of Caldwell, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Published in The Bryan-College Station Eagle on May 4, 2011 ∼ Mary Bertha Matcek, 88, of Caldwell passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Services will be held at 10 am Thursday, May 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell. Visitation will be from 5 pm until 9 pm Wednesday with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mrs. Matcek was born October 2, 1922 in Burleson County to Walter and Lillie Wendorf Wiederhold. She was a homemaker and helped with raching and raising turkeys. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and crocheting. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Creative Memories Quilting Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Matcek; her parents; a brother, Glenn Wiederhold; a son-in-law Felix Myers and a brother-in-law, Jody Matcek. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, four daughters and three sons-in-law, a brother and sister-in-law, three sisters and a brother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home
