Bio

John York is the son of Thomas and Mary Brown York. He married Anna Brown on July 30, 1743 at Stonington, Connecticut. He is the father of Martha, Anna, Anna, John, Lucy, and Lydia York. John York Sr. was a Patriot Supporter. He was nominated to supply soldiers families at Stonington, Connecticut on February 19, 1781. His Son John York Jr. was also a Sergeant in the Revolutionary War in Connecticut.

In memory of Mr. John York, who departed this life May 12th, 1784 in ye 69th year of his age. My lover, friend, familiar all, Removed from sight & out of call, To dark oblivion is retired, Dead or, at least to me expired.
