FREIDA CLEONE McCORMICK, 83, of Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 in Marlow. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, November 6, 2006, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow, with Rev. Arbuary Ritter and Rev. Jerry Couch officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Freida was born Friday, August 3, 1923 in Richards, Oklahoma, to Benjamin W. Fincher and Essie Lee Baxter Fincher. Freida married Carlos Coye McCormick on December 3, 1940. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2005. She graduated from Central High School. She lived in the Marlow area most of her life. She worked as a seamstress at EBI for 15 years. Freida enjoyed cooking, canning, needlework and quilting. She often made clothes for her children. Freida also enjoyed reading and writing poetry. Freida loved her church. She was a charter member of the Eastside Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary, Sunday school teacher, training union and counselor. Survivors include a son, Rudy McCormick and Sandy McCormick Goulden of Marlow; a daughter, Carlene Cannaday and husband Buddy of Marlow; grandchildren, Lorena Long and husband Mark, Tina Barton and husband Jerald, Rudy Michael McCormick and wife Tammy, Scotty Cannaday and wife Christina, Richy Davenport; great-grandchildren, Michael James McCormick and wife Laura, Josh McCormick, Seth McCormick, Kaleb Long, Jesse and David Barton, Christina, Kevin, Ashley and Katie Cannaday; great-great-grandchild, Jude; and brother, Carroll Fincher and wife Lavon of Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Glen Fincher and J. Lee Fincher. Pallbearers will be Jim Coast, Bill Hardy, Bob Greer, Rick Crutcher, Neal Owen and Carl Barrington.
