Bio

Vincent D. Rade Vincent D. Rade of Bellingham died Friday, Aug. 1, 1997, at Mount Baker Care Center. He was 82. He was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Bellingham to John and Dora (Vrane) Rade. He married Vivian Thompson in Bellingham on July 15, 1947. Mr. Rade was a lifetime Bellingham resident. He was a commercial fisher and worked in the lumber industry. He retired March 1, 1980. Mr. Rade loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gathering wild mushrooms and berries, and spending time on the waterfront. He was a handyman who could fix almost anything, and loved to stay busy. He valued honesty, integrity and hard work. He was preceded in death by his brother, Nick Rade. Survivors include his wife, of the family home, a daughter, Sharon D. Wagner of Bellingham; two sisters, Catherine Whitman of Seattle and Lou Hairston of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; many friends and neighbors. A graveside service will be at Bayview Cemetery. The date and time of the service are pending. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Services are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
