BURWELL — Carrol Walter Hopkins, 89, of Burwell died Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 10, at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery in Ord with military rites by the Burwell Color Guard. Pastor Dennis Davenport will officiate. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of the arrangements. Carrol was born on July 30, 1926 at Burwell to Charles and Mable (Whitesell) Hopkins. Carrol is survived by five children and families, Patricia and Melvin Moore of Lincoln, Kenneth and Kathie Hopkins of Ft. Collins, Colo., Richard and Jolene Hejsek of Seattle, Wash., Darrel and Sarah Hopkins of Lincoln and Diane Hopkins of Bismarck, N.D.; seven grandchildren, Erica Moore, Katrina and Andrew Landry, Sara and Ian Black, Kirk and Tiffany Vanosdall, Alexandra, Nathaniel and Hannah Hopkins; eight great-grandchildren, Briley, Jordan, Kaylea, Jeslyn and Jahnye Moore and Ainsley, Sully and Kadence Vanosdall; and a host of nieces and nephews. Carrol was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; four brothers; a sister; son, Keith; and several nieces and nephews.
