WWII and Korean married 17 September 1946 Jonathan E. Jobe Sr. Jonathan E. Jobe Sr., 70, died Sunday at a local hospital. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Nolan Cemetery with Bob Kiser officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 4002 Buffalo Gap Road. Mr. Jobe grew up in Sulphur Springs and retired from the Navy in 1962 after 20 years. He graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree. He taught school in Chula Vista, Calif., for 20 years, retiring in 1984, and did substitute teaching for three years before moving to Abilene in 1987. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association. He married Jacqueline Lewis in 1946 in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; one son, Jonathan E.
