Wisconsin State Journal, Wednesday, November 18, 1998, p. 24 "Ard, Vernon E. STOUGHTON/FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA -- Vernon E. Ard, age 67, died on Friday, November 13, 1998, at the Fort Walton Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was born on June 13, 1931, in Lillian, Alabama, the son of Emmuel and Pearl (Younce) Ard. Vernon was married to Patricia Musker for 32 years; she preceded him in death on October 31, 1994. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring in 1968 after 20 years of service. Vern was employed at McDermott Wholesale Plumbing and Heating for over 20 years and most recently at Fort Walton Beach Leisure Time Services. Vernon was an avid racing fan, and loved spending time with his five grandsons. He is survived by sons, Daniel E. Ard, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Mark (Sue) Nardini of Janesville, Daniel Nardini of Lake Mills; grandchildren, Matthew, Paul and Tommy Nardini; Daniel, and Mathew Leani; and sister, Audrey (Walter) Cummings of Foley, Alabama. A funeral Mass will be held at ST. ANN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 Van Buran St., Stoughton, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 1998, with Father Gerard Healy presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church on Thursday. GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME-STOUGHTON (corner of Jackson St. and Hwy. 51), is assisting the family."
