Bio
Eldon Emmanuel Duffek, 81, of Phoenix, passed away on May 17, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born on May 22, 1934 to Emil and Adeline (Raiter) Duffek in Bee, Nebraska. Eldon grew up on his family's farm in Nebraska. He loved football and played at both Seward High School and the University of Nebraska. Following college, Eldon spent 2 years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then married the love of his life, Marion Vannelli. Together they homesteaded a farm in Idaho for the first five years of their marriage. Later, they moved west to California before finally settling down in Arizona. The two of them would ultimately spend 59 years together, dedicating their lives to family and the community. They are survived by their daughters, Patricia Marie Duffek and Nicole Lynn Lenderman (Jason); granddaughters, Brooke Marie Tatro and Sayla Grace Lenderman; and preceded in death by their daughter, Tamera Ann Duffek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 27, 2016, 11:00 am at the St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ with a graveside service to follow at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 West Beardsley Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to Hospice of the Valley , 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85014. Thank You.
