Age 78 The Hartford Day Spring, Nov. 4, 1931, pg. 5 Mrs. Lillian Edmonds, Resident Here 59 Years, Dies Mrs. Lillian Edmonds, aged 79 and a resident of Hartford for 50 years, died at the family home on Bernard street Saturday morning, her death following a brief illness. Funeral rites for her were held at the Zuver & Calvin chapel Monday afternoon, Rev. J. H. Balfour of Coloma officiating, and interment was at Pioneer cemetery. Mrs. Edmonds was born in Ashtabula county, Ohio, November 2, 1852. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Jane Squiers, a long time resident of Hartford. Mr. Squiers was killed in the Battle of the Wilderness during the Civil war. She came to Michigan when 13 years old and later graduated from the Lawrence school. For the last fifty years she had resided in Hartford, and was a member of the Methodist church and an active member of the Relief Corps., Maccabees and American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Almond Edmonds of Hartford, two sons, Edward of Venice, Calif., and Glenn of Dearborn, Mich., and three grandchildren, as well as many local friends in whose circles she will be missed.
