EvLyn M Jonas, 90, of Boise, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 in a Boise care facility. Services pending, Bowman Funeral Parlor of Garden City. Published in Idaho Statesman on May 24, 2016 - - - - - - - - - EvLyn M. Jonas of Boise, Idaho passed away May 23rd surrounded by her family. EvLyn lived a full life in her 90 years. She was born in 1925 in Elyria, Nebraska. She married Harry Jonas in 1946 and he remained her one true love even after his death in 1965. EvLyn worked at the U.S Post office in Boise until her retirement. Evlyn loved to paint and her paintings will provide years of enjoyment to her family and friends. EvLyn had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Marks Catholic Community. Over the years, she had become very involved with the church and participated in many church organizations. EvLyn earned numerous commemorative awards for services she provided to the Boise community. EvLyn was indeed a gentle spirit with a compassionate heart. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone and was always looking for ways to help others. EvLyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Harry Jonas; son, Dennis Jonas; and great-granddaughter, Karmyn Jonas. She is survived by her 3 children; Denise Vitagliano (Bill), Alan Jonas, (Patti) Lynda Adams (Dan) Mary Jonas (daughter-in-law). Grandchildren; Eric Jonas, Alicia Vitagliano, Nathan Jonas, and Courtney Weaver. Great-granddaughter; Amelia Parker Vitagliano-Hill. Step-Grandchildren; Kevin Adams, Kelli Racca and Kris Adams. 5 Step great-grandchildren; Kaikoa, Cruz, Sydney, Kellen, Akea and Kathryn. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 6:00 pm at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 7960 West Northview Street, Boise, 83704. Vigil Services will follow at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, May 27, 2016 at the church. Published in Idaho Statesman on May 25, 2016
