Fremont Tribune, Fremont, Nebraska, May 26, 2016, Page A2 Michael T. Kaczmarski, 68, of Nickerson died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Hill City, S.D. Michael was born May 1, 1948, in Hammond, Ind., to Thomas and Dorothy (Pachen) Kaczmarski. He lived in Cedar Bluffs and Nickerson. Michael married Linda Thomsen on Jan. 6, 1968, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. He worked as a construction supervisor until retiring in 2010. He was the assistant fire chief for the Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Nickerson school board. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with famly and friends. Michael is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Troy (and wife, Laura) Kaczmarski of Albany, Ga., and Michael "Todd" (and wife, Brenda) Kaczmarski of Hooper; mother, Dorothy Petersen of North Bend; and three grandchildren, Matthew (and wife, Lisa) Kaczmarski, Kevin and Cady Kaczmarski. He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Leo Petersen. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Ron Battiato will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be given to the Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department.
