Bio
Sharon Rae (Youngstrom) Krenk was born October 10, 1942 in Corsica, SD to Lyle and Agnes (Westby) Youngstrom. Sharon grew up on a farm in South Dakota. She attended grade school in Armour, SD, and graduated from Delmont High School in Delmont, SD in 1960. Sharon married Edward Krenk III on October 26, 1966 at the Hanscom Park Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska, and to this union, four children were born: Theresa, Randy, Edward IV "E.J.", and Kendra. The family made their home in Schuyler, Nebraska for several years before moving to Elkhorn, Nebraska. Sharon and Ed would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in October. Sharon worked as a secretary, in sales, and was even on the radio at one time. She was active with the ladies J.C.'s in Schuyler, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and was part of a swim group and a pinochle group. Sharon was an avid quilter, and was always ready for a game of Dominos, Canasta, Pinochle or Bridge, and when she played, she loved to win! Sharon was a hard worker and she taught her kids to have a strong work ethic. She enjoyed cheering for the Huskers, dinner out at The Drover or Jericho's, or just drinking a Diet Coke. She and Ed loved spending the winters in Arizona. Sharon will be remembered as a very outgoing woman who made friends easily. Sharon died on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 7 months, and 9 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Agnes Youngstrom and sister Beverly Baier. Sharon is survived by her husband Edward III of Elkhorn, children: Randy & Cheryl, and their children: Brandon and Justyn, and Brandon's daughter, Addisyn; Theresa Krenk, Edward James IV "E.J." & Shelly, and their children: Jacob, Edward V "Eddie", Charles, and Mackenzie; Kendra Krenk and her sons: Ace and Enzo Morello, all of Omaha; and siblings: Shirley Vogt, Bill Youngstrom, and Erdene Uecker, all of South Dakota.
