They were shown to be renting from August Findisen, a neighbor of Willie's parents. The 1930 census recorded Olga Gebert, 28, living on a farm in Bastrop County, Texas, with husband William R., 34, and children: Leslie, 9; Emmett W., 7; Wilton, 3; and Gladys, 5 months.
