---------------------------------------------------------- Cletus Daniel Duty SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Cletus Daniel Duty, 84, will be held at Saint Mary's of the Pines Catholic Church, Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Rothell Price will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2006 with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Cletus Daniel Duty, one of twin sons, born to pioneer West Texans, Charles W. Duty and Lydia E. Duty in Abilene, Texas, April 3, 1922. He graduated Valedictorian from St. Joseph Academy, Abilene, Texas in 1939. He was called to his final reward on September 11, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as an airplane crew chief from June 1942 until February 1946 serving in the First Air Force and the Third Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna Ann Duty, three daughters, Rita Marie Horsak and Glen Hustus of Conroe, Texas, Joan Frances Lorraine and her husband, Bill Lorraine of Devine, Texas and Mary Elizabeth Hicks and her husband, Bryan Hicks of Flower Mound, Texas. He is also survived by two sons, Paul Gregory Duty and his wife, Debbie of Shreveport and Kevin Gerard Duty and his wife Michelle of Katy, Texas and his twin brother Gabriel Andrew Duty and his wife, Wilma of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 15 grandchildren and two great grand daughters and numerous nephews and nieces. His grandchildren are: John Duty and Mark Duty and his fiancée, Amanda Winans of Shreveport; Craig, Michael, Steven, Blake and Ashlyn Duty of Katy, Texas; Vanessa Lorraine and daughter, Danielle, Nathan Lorraine, Neil Lorraine, Leah Lorraine Lozada, her husband Julio and daughter, Emma of Devine, Texas; Garrett, Joel, Aaron and Caroline Hicks of Flower Mound, Texas. His parents, his first wife, Emma Lirette Duty and two brothers, Wesley C. Duty and Ira W. Duty, preceded him in death. Cletus Duty was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years being initiated on October 12, 1952. He was an Honorary Life Member of both 3rd and 4th degrees and served as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator in Abilene, Texas and Shreveport. He was a Certified Professional Landman being active in petroleum exploration for forty-five years and having worked in eighteen states. Cletus worked for and retired from, Pennzoil, IMC and McGoldrick Oil Companies in Shreveport. Cletus was a Trustee of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church for 28 years and was instrumental in naming the parish after the Blessed Mother. He was a devout Catholic all of his life. He volunteered and served in many capacities in every Catholic parish that he attended. He was a born leader and a mentor to many people. His presence will be missed by many at his parish family of St. Mary's of the Pines. It is God's will that he be called home to reap his Heavenly reward that he deserves. His family will miss him, but have many treasured memories of his love. Because of all his accomplishments he was recipient of the Pro Ecclesiae et Pontificiae Papal award, the Holy Trinity Medal of Honor and Devoted Service Award.
