Dorothy Ann Meek of Waco, Texas, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption with the Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and the Rev. Joseph Geleney as Celebrants. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., and Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Dorothy, the youngest of five children, was born December 31, 1933, in Westphalia, Texas, to Gerhard and Bertha Hoelscher. She loved her church and family above all. She was an accomplished seamstress, cake decorator, hairdresser and floral arranger. Dorothy was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, active in Ladies of Charity and the Womens Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Ralph W. Meek; and two brothers, James and Leonard Hoelscher. She is survived by her children, Janet and Gary Pate of Waco, Donna Spindler of Port Charlotte, Florida, Diane and Charles McDaniel of Waco, Roger Meek of Hewitt, Rosanne and George Cloy of Dallas, and Robert and Alice Meek of McGregor; 12 grandchildren, Kyle Pate, Lauren and Cody Scott, Tyler and Kuria Spindler, Ross and Amy Spindler, Brian McDaniel, Austin McDaniel, Grayson Meek, Kasie Meek, Ambree Meek, Bekah Meek, Jacob Meek and Lucy Meek; and one great granddaughter, Sadie Spindler; brothers, Eugene Hoelscher (Mattie Lou) and Elmer Hoelscher (Geraldine); and a large extended family.
