The Commercial Appeal Thursday, December 2, 1993 EDWARD BAKER Edward Marlin Baker died Tuesday, Nov. 23, at his home in Michie at the age of 94. He was the son of Lexie and Letha McClain Baker. He was married to the former Myrtle Weatherford who preceded him in death in 1967, and in 1972, he married the former Hannah Austin. Mr. Baker was a retired farmer and member of Michie Church of God of Prophecy. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed woodworking. Services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Michie Church of God of Prophecy with William Axley, Roy Bennett and Scott Neill officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Other than his wife Hannah, he leaves five sons, David and E.M. Baker Jr. of Michie, Tom Baker of Ypsilanti, Mich., Joe Baker of Thompson, Ga., and Paul Baker of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven daughters, Virgie Mae Harvell and Earline Foster of Michie, Jane Austin and Jessie Neill of Savannah, Fran Tice Nelms and Chloe Ruth Bell of Memphis, and Ann Johnson Iuka, Miss.; one stepson, Lloyd Austin of Savannah; 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
