Jack L. Hawkins, Sr. June 13, 1932 - May 12, 2016 Jack L. Hawkins Sr., 83, of Cedar Park, formerly of Palacios, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2016. Mr. Hawkins was born June 13, 1932, Omaha, Texas, son of John T. Hawkins and Willie Lou Vicey. He was a loving husband, father, and a devout practicing Christian and resident of "The Ranch" at Cedar Park. Jack could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. In all his years on this Earth, Jack has been a man of Christian faith and continuously shared his faith with others. Mr. Hawkins served in the United State Army, during the Korean War. He worked many years in the Insurance Industry before retiring and co-owning Believer's Bookstore. He studied at Del Mar College. Mr. Hawkins spent most of his life in Texas. He and his wife, Hazel, built their home in Palacios, Texas and enjoyed many wonderful years there together. He is survived by his son, Jack (Karen) Hawkins Jr. and daughters, P. Janene Hawkins and Susan Minter. His grandchildren: Haley (Jamie) Kruse, Lori Bohannon, Sam (Shasta) Bruce, Chalon Hawkins, Bonni Hawkins, and Dane Minter and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Leander Chapel. Interment will follow at Hudson Bend Cemetery.
