Published in The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sunday, May 15, 2016, Page 24A. Raymond James “Jim” Thompson, 90, died May 11, 2016. He was born October 1, 1925 in Atlantic, Iowa to Jasper and Ethel (Rinker) Thompson. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII and the Korean War, and the owner of Jim’s Upholstery in OKC. On August 7, 1944, he married Iris Mathews and she preceded him in death October 4, 1993. Survivors include daughter, Kitty Cox and husband Fred of OKC; two grandsons, Keith Cox and wife Holly of Enterprise, AL and Sam Cox and wife Aimee of Yukon, OK; 3 great-grandchildren, Aaron, Avery and Wyatt. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm, with family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Graveside services will be Monday, May 16, 10:00am in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
