Bio

The funeral of Elder Ed N. McRae, state organizer of the Loyal Americans, who died last Wednesday night at his home, 609 Ruiz Street, was held Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock from the residence, and was largely attended. Rev. Mr. Morgan, pastor of the reorganized Church of Jesus Christ, assisted by Rev. Mr. Carl, conducted the services at the home. Following the services at the home the body was taken to City Cemetry No. 1, where interment was made. At the grave the Independent Order of Odd Fellows conducted their burial ritual, which was beautiful and impressive. The ritual was read by A. L. Baker, noble grand, and Stephen Gould, chaplain of that order. There were many floral offerings from the different fraternal orders that Mr. McRae was affiliated with in life, as well as some pretty designs from friends. The active pallbearers were Senator A. P. Barrett, D. A. McCaskill, T. E. Mumme, A. Nester, Paul Meerscheidt and H. P. Burney. San Antonio Light - July 2, 1911
