Carlos Alfred Elkins was born July 21, 1899, Fremont County, Iowa. He grew up in Farmers Valley, Hamilton County, Nebraska and begin teaching school at age 16 prior to receiving his B S Degree from Nebraska Wesleyan College and M S Degree from University of Nebraska where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He married Cora Mae Risden May 25, 1927 at Stockham, Nebraska and they had 2 sons and 3 daughters. Mr. Elkins served as Superintendent of Schools in Nebraska and Wyoming, and taught science and math at West High School and Highland School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Scottish Rite Bodies at Nebraska. Mr. Elkins is descendent of Mayflower Passenger, Richard Warren.
