Haught Ord Man, Custodian for 31 Years, Dies at Hospital Thursday David Clinton Haught, son of Joseph and Julia Levina Haught, was born January 31, 1884 at Guide Rock. He died on Thursday, February 7, 1952, in the Ord Cooperative hospital, after being ill several months, although not bedfast. Mr. Haught came to Valley county in 1902, where he has made his home ever since. In 1904 he was united in marriage to Grace VanSlyke. To this union three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Freeman B., Curtis; Mrs. Opal Kosmata, Caldwell, Ida., and Mrs. Vera Andersen, Ord. His wife died on Aug. 23 [sic], 1923. Mr. Haught farmed in Valley county until 1919. Later he moved to Ord where he was in the real estate business until 1921. Since that time he had been employed as custodian in the county courthouse, where he soon became a familiar figure. The flag over the building which he had cared for so many years was flown from half mast on Sunday, the day of his funeral. On June 28, 1939, he was married to Jessie Adams, who survives him with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also two sisters, Viola Priel, Vancouver, and Ralph of North Platte. Two brothers have preceded Mr. Haught in death. He was a member of the Methodist church and also of the Modern Woodmen of America. His funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon and burial was in the Ord City cemetery. The Ord Quiz - Thur, Feb 14 1952, Pg 1, Col 2
