Early Life: Myra was born February 13, 1924, in Payson, Utah, to James Christian and Melinda Jane Parker Hansen. She grew up in South Jordan, Utah, where she graduated from Jordan High School. Following graduation she attended both LDS Business College and Brigham Young University. Life's Work/Service/Interests: While at BYU, she met her future husband, Thomas S. Taylor, Jr. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 10, 1947. They lived in Salt Lake City while Tom attended law school at the University of Utah and then settled in Provo. Myra was an accomplished homemaker; she enjoyed sewing, cooking and taking care of her family. Myra and Tom had two children, Mark and Anne. She also enjoyed golfing, traveling, and was a member of several bridge clubs. Myra was a member of the Oak Hills Second LDS Ward, where she served in many callings throughout the years. Myra was called as a temple worker when the Provo Utah LDS Temple first opened in 1972 and continued to serve there until 1993, when she and Tom were called to serve in the London England LDS mission. Following their return from their mission, she once again served in the Provo Temple for several years. Myra Elizabeth Hansen Taylor passed away November 8, 2011, at her home in Provo, Utah. She was 87. Survived By: Her husband, Tom; daughter, Anne (Terry) Kallas; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: Her son, Mark James Taylor; sister, Helen Holt; brothers: Ray Hansen, Earl Hansen and Grant Hansen, and by a great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Taylor Kallas.
