Graveside Service 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 04, 2016 Schuyler Cemetery Schuyler, Nebraska Donna J. Anderson of Columbus died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at her home in rural Columbus. Donna J. Anderson was born October 8, 1946 in Schuyler, NE to Robert T. and Evelyn B. (Ehernberger) French, Sr. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1964 and was a 1965 graduate of Bahner Beauty College in Fremont. Donna married Richard Rothanzl in February of 1964 to which 4 children were born. They lived in North Bend where Donna owned and operated Donnas Beauty Shop. Donna also worked at Country Beauty Shop, Birchwood Manor, St. Josephs Villa, Schuyler Nursing Home, and at Dale Electronics for 9 years. She married Thomas Anderson in July of 1988 and they made their home in Columbus. Donna worked as a beautician at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. A big part of her life was her kids and grandkids. Donna loved to travel having visited every state except Alaska. Donna served in several capacities in politics. She was the 2004 Nebraska 3rd District Democratic candidate for Congress and was the treasurer for the Nebraska Democratic Party. Donna was a past school board member for North Bend Elementary School and later for Platte County District 3. She was a member of the Federated Church in Columbus. She is survived by: Husband: Thomas Anderson of Columbus Daughter: Kristin (Robert) Miller of Columbus Grandchildren: Jordan Miller of Blair and Pazia Miller of Columbus Son: Kent (Lisa) Rothanzl of North Bend Grandchildren: Caitlyn and Bailey Rothanzl of North Bend Son: Kyle (Teresa) Rothanzl of Blair Grandchildren: Emilie, Evelyn, and Ryan Rothanzl of Blair Son: Kurtis Rothanzl of Columbus Sister: Mary Alyce (Don) Schneider of Hastings Sister: Kay (Rod) Ruzicka of Schuyler Brother: Robert French Jr. of Columbus She is preceded in death by: Parents Robert and Evelyn French, Sr. Mother-in-law Mary Anderson Memorials can be made to the wishes of the family."
