William Arthur Dixon was the son of Jonathan Monroe Dixon and Mary Jane McGee and was born in Wayne County, Tennessee, where he was a lifelong resident. He married Bernice Evans Gallaher in Wayne County, marrying on September 24, 1911 and having four known children together: Clara Belle Dixon (1913-1998) John William Dixon (1916-1976) Herman Roscoe Dixon (1919-2005) Mamie Ruth Fixon (1926-1972) He farmed in the Collinwood area, passing away in rural Wayne County.
