Bio
Services for Willard Alton Morehead, age 84, of Elkhart, Texas, are scheduled for 3 p.m., October 19, 2004 at Bailey & Foster Chapel in Palestine, Texas. Burial will follow in Guiceland Cemetery south of Elkhart. Mr. Morehead died October 16, 2006 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born November 8, 1919, in Salmon, the son of Alvin Brewer and Maude Estelle Killion Morehead. He attended Slocum High School. Mr. Morehead entered the Army in May, 1944 and served on Manila and in the Phillipines. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Owen Morehead, and Grady Morehead; and sisters, Lucille Dodson, Geneva Langston, and Charlene Brown. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lois Trigg Morehead; and daughters, Mary Willene Rutledge and Travis of Galveston, Danelle Buckholtz of Palestine, and Nancy Jo Oster and Ricky of Tennessee Colony; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
