Bio

Diane Theresa (Dowse) Horst, 78, of Arnold, passed away suddenly April 22, 2016, at her home. Diane was born to Philip and Eleanor (Erickson) Dowse on Dec. 30, 1937, in the little house back in the hills near Comstock. Many happy memories were shared about her youth and times spent in her grandparents’ “soddy.” She attended school in Comstock and graduated in 1955. Diane was an outstanding artist and had a fondness for nature scenes. Many of her oil paintings are hanging in homes across the country. Foremost, she will be remembered for her love of the Lord. Many hours were spent praying for loved ones and friends in need. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William Horst; brothers, Darrel and Dale Dowse; son, Mitchel Marsh; and grandson, Nathen Marsh. She is survived by two daughters, Vangie Marsh, of Austin, Texas, and Heidi Connell, of Arnold; one son, Myron Marsh, of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Doyle (Sue) Dowse, Raymond Dowse and Ronald (LeAnn) Dowse. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at the First Baptist Church of Arnold with Pastor Irving Jennings officiating. Burial will be at the Arnold Cemetery. Arnold Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
