Edward D. Parks was born December 23, 1880 in Blossom, Lamar County, Texas, son of Thomas "Tom" F. Parks and Harriett "Hattie" G. (Johnson) Parks. In his Parks family, he is the brother of Moody (about 1872), James William (1873), Shed Henderson (1874), Henrietta (about 1875), John Moore (1877), Mack (1882), Lucy Belle (1885), Nellie (1886), Dudley Duncan (1889), Drucilla (1891), Elbert (1894), Nannie Holmes (1896) Parks. He became known as "Ed". He lived in Lamar County all his life, working in farming. On Christmas day in 1907, he married Minnie Estalee Maddux. They had 2 sons, Edward R. and Dwight L. Parks; and a daughter, Robbie N. Parks. On Friday, January 3, 1941, Ed Parks, age 60, died at 1:45 p. m. at his home, Rt. 1, Pattonville, after a brief illness. Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at the Blossom Baptist Church with Rev. M. W. Lanier, church pastor, presiding with interment made by Manton-Fry Funeral Home of nearby Paris, TX, in the Knights of Honor Cemetery, Central NE Section, Blossom, Lamar County, Texas.
