Former Colton Area Resident Dies In Oregon NEWPORT, Ore. - Lawrence Bauer, 67, former Colton, Wash., area resident, died Tuesday of a lingering illness at Newport. He was born at Almota, Wash., son of, John and Gertrude Bauer, Feb. 13, 1904. He moved with his parents to their farm between Colton and Uniontown at the age of 8. He attended Colton schools and graduated from Washington State College (now university) with a degree in electrical engineering. He married Evangeline Wolf Oct. 17, 1935, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Uniontown. Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Ronald Bauer of Newhall Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. George (Maryilyn) Hoxsey of Ludwigsburg, Germany and four grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Bauer of Spokane and Frank Bauer of Uniontown; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Gertrude) Reisenauer of Colton and Miss Betty Bauer of Uniontown. Rosary service and funeral mass will be in Newport. Burial service will be at Colton Catholic Cemetery Saturday morning at 9:30 with the Rev. Paul M. Goergen officiating.
