From THE SWEETWATER REPORTER (Sweetwater, TX): Wanda Nell Ottinger Wanda Nell Ottinger, 63, of Odessa passed away at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, March 20, 2006. Wanda was born Sept. 3, 1942, to Harvey B. Crain and Eppie (Walden) Crain in Sweetwater. She was raised on the Crain farm near Maryneal and was educated at Blackwell High School, graduating with the Class of 1960. She married Donald Leo Ottinger on July 1, 1967, in Odessa. Wanda moved to Odessa and was employed by Pinkie's and Standard Sales Co. for 30 years before retiring in 2002. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and the care and keeping of her turtles. Wanda is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald Leo Ottinger of Odessa; her mother, Eppie Crain of Bronte; a daughter, Dawn Tellez and husband Tony of Odessa; her sister, Cherry Green and husband George of Shepherd; grandsons Donald Atkins of U S. Navy, Groton, Conn., and Joshua Tellez of Odessa; granddaughter, Monica Tellez, of Odessa; nephews, Dan Willoughby and family of Draper, Utah and Clay Willoughby of Grand Forks, N.D. She is also survived by many cousins and friends. Wanda was predeceased by her father, Harvey B. Crain. The family will have a visitation on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, from 6-8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Lynn Money officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
