Kenneth Truman Harding, 88, of Eddy, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Waco. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:30 a.m., at Mooreville United Methodist Church, Chilton, with Rev. Lynn Starnes officiating. Kenneth was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Leonard Dero and Eula Kincannon Harding. He graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946 and served with the General Headquarters Far East Command in Japan. Kenneth married Jeannine Shieldes on February 1, 1949, at Eddy Methodist Church where they were members for many years. In 1999, he and Jeannine joined Mooreville United Methodist Church. He worked in institution coffee sales for 47 years. He also enjoyed raising Angus cattle. He and Jeannine were members of the Texas Angus Association as well as charter members of the Hub-of -Texas Angus Association. Kenneth was a Mason for 60 years, first with the George N. Denton Lodge 24 AF&AM and later, Eddy Masonic Lodge 797. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Annie Laurie Graham, Peggy Thompson, and Jean Smith. Survivors include his wife, Jeannine; brother, L.D. Harding and wife, Jane; many nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Sandra Rogers and husband, Grover. Waco Tribune-Herald: 4/19/2016...U21
