Margaret Alma (Greer) Bailey, 94, of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at her home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Mr. Walter Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry. Margaret was born in Kaufman County, Texas, to the late Frank S. Greer, Sr. and Alma Tennie (McCormack) Greer. She graduated in 1939 from Scurry Rosser Senior High and attended Dallas Business School. Margaret married Haskell Coleman Bailey on February 15, 1941. She retired from the City of Dallas, Water Department in 1984. Margaret and Haskell moved to Waxahachie in 1972 where her hobbies included quilting, gardening and cross stitching. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. C. Bailey in 1982; a daughter, Sandra Lee Bailey; brothers: George, Jim (her twin) and Frank, Jr.; and sisters, Birdie and Dorothy. Survivors include her sons, Jimmie Bailey and wife, Terry, of Richardson, and Larry Bailey and wife, Maryanne, of Mesquite; daughters, Kay Burch and husband, Rusty, of Crosby, and Judy McCurdy and husband, Jimmy, of Waxahachie; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, longtime friends and longtime pet companion, Pee Wee.
