------------------------- HELEN LORENE COOK January 6, 1926 - January 23, 2016 BIOGRAPHY Helen Lorene Cook, 90, of Sherman, passed from this life on Saturday, January 23, 2015, at her home. Her family received friends from 7:00-8:00 Monday, January 25th, at Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 26th, at Dannel Funeral Chapel. Rev. John Hardy, Executive Director of AIM4India, will officiate. Interment will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. following the chapel service. Ms. Cook was born January 6, 1926, in Van Alstyne, TX, to John Cook and Rebecca Haley Coats Cook. She graduated from Van Alstyne High School. She was a lover of nature, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at Waterloo Lake, where she fed the squirrels and birds. She also loved to fish. A favorite place to visit was Hagerman Refuge on Lake Texoma. She was a long-time member of North Park Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Ms. Cook is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Dannel Funeral Home. -------------------------
