Gale Kirby Born: April 28, 1940 Died: March 31, 2016 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Gale Kirby, age 75, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home in Idabel. He was born on April 28, 1940 in Ord, Nebraska, the son of Arthur Jansen and Gertie Elizabeth Crandall Kirby. He married his wife, Marquita, on May 26, 1990 in Broken Bow. Gale was a truck driver. He enjoyed gardening and canning. He was very fond of his dogs, Wally and Sugar. He raised quarter horses and liked horseshoeing and going to rodeos. He had lived in McCurtain County since 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Kirby; sister, Darlene Ralls; and grandson, Michael Crawford. Gale is survived by his wife, Marquita, of the home; sons, Sonny Kirby of Durant, OK, Dan Kirby of Billings, MT, Jaden Taylor of San Diego, CA, and Michael Carpenter of Idabel; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jim Huffman of Taylor, NE, Marlene and David Crawford of Russellville, AR, and Gaylene Pearson of Kearney, NE; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; many other relatives and friends.
