Idona Allen Barnes 1929 - 2016 Early Life: Idona was born August 15, 1929, in Kanab, Utah, to Dean Stewart Allen and Fay Stevens Allen. Her father passed away when she was only two years old. Her mother then married to Christopher Heaton Bowers. They moved to California for work when she was five. They then relocated to American Fork, Utah, where she attended school. She graduated from high school in 1947. Life's Work |Service | Interests: Idona became a telephone operator at the American Fork Telephone office where she worked for six years until she met and married her sweetheart, Clinton Jack Barnes. They were married November 1, 1952; they were later sealed with their children in the Salt Lake Temple on June 18, 1962. She enjoyed her many church callings and loved serving as a temple worker at the Provo Utah Temple and Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple, where she served alongside her husband for many years. She loved being a mother and found much joy in bottling all of the produce from her garden and fruits from their trees. The only thing she loved more than those things were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could listen to them play for hours in her home. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Idona Allen Barnes, of Lehi, Utah, passed away surrounded by her children March 26, 2016, in her home. She was 86. Family Message: "She will be greatly missed but we know she has been reunited with her eternal companion and eldest son." Survived By: Her children: Jacquelynn (Kerry) Blood, Rebecca (Phil) Lundberg, James Allen (Jamie) Barnes, and Paul Jack (Lisa) Barnes; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Clinton Jack Barnes; her son, Joseph Dean Barnes; her parents; her infant half-brother; and son-in-law, Kerry G Blood.
