Bio

Alvin Henry Laudenklos, 79, of Norfolk, formerly of Albion, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at the Faith Regional Health Center in Norfolk. Services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion with the Rev. Larry Sydow officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion with military rites by The American Legion Post 162 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 736 of Albion. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the Levander Funeral Home in Albion. Mr. Laudenklos was born on Oct. 21, 1923, to Henry L. and Helen (Hilmer) Laudenklos at Madison. He attended Boone County School District 4. He served in the U. S. Army from August 1943 to June 1945. He served in the Normandy Campaign where he received the Purple Heart Award. He lived in the Albion area where he farmed with his brother. In 1999, he moved to Norfolk. He was a member of the church. Survivors include three sister-in-laws, Donna Laudenklos of Norfolk, Gloria Laudenklos of Columbus and Shirley Laudenklos of Newman Grove; and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Melvin Laudenklos, Marvin Laudenklos and Eugene Laudenklos; and a sister, Delores.
