Dolores T.Messing Brethour September 19,1929-March 17,2016 Dolores T. Brethour, 86, of Gering, passed away March 17, 2016 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. A Mass of Christian Burial will be March 23, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery here. Dolores T. Brethour, daughter of George and Martha (Glatter) Messing, was born September 19, 1929 at the family farm southeast of Sidney, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sidney, NE. While living in Sidney, she was employed at Laura’s Flower Shop and the Yendis Café. In August 1949 she moved to Scottsbluff, NE and was employed at Davenport Printing Co. On December 2, 1950 she was married to Roy Brethour at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sidney, NE. They lived and raised their family in Scottsbluff where Roy was the owner-operator of Ace Body Shop. After Roy’s retirement, they moved to Northfield Villa in Gering, NE in November 1999. Dolores was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Altar Society, and worked as a volunteer at St. Agnes School library, and the Bargain Bin. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Roy, brothers Conrad Messing and Anthony Messing, sisters Margaret McElfresh, Evelyn Kloberdanz, Lenora Schweitzberger, and Regina Jarred.
