Early Life: Nedra Lynel was born May 20, 1936, in Richfield, Utah. She was the second daughter of Urban Van and Amy LaVera Hunt Stewart. She attended South Sevier High School in Monroe, Snow College in Ephraim (at age 17), and Brigham Young University in Provo, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 1965. Life's Work/Service/Interests: She worked in Vernal, Utah, as a social worker for the Welfare Department. In 1971, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she was an analyst for Social Security. Previously, she lived with her first husband, Kenneth Miles Gurr, in San Diego, Hollywood, and Salt Lake City. She lived in Kansas City and Orem with her husband Luis Alberto Román. She has lived in Provo for the last 20 years. Nedra Lynel Stewart Román died March 15, 2016, in American Fork, Utah. Survived By: Her sons, Carlos Gurr (Helen) and Kendyl Román (Karen); her sisters: Ranae MacKay (Sandy) and Nancy Lark Stewart; her brothers: John Wayne Stewart (Mary), Eric Stewart (Debra) and Dennis Stewart (Sherry);14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Luis; son, Leon K. Román (Wilma); her parents; brothers: David Stewart and Larry Stewart (Gloria). Services: LDS Chapel @ 1066 West 200 North in Provo, Utah.
