Bio

Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent December 1977 Albert Boltz, 75, of rural Grand Island, died Thursday at the family farm five miles south of Grand Island. He had been ill for some time. Death was due to a circulatory ailment. Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mr. Boltz was born April 6, 1902, to Gustave and Lena Lilienthal Boltz on a farm south of Grand Island. He attended District 3 School and grew up on the family farm. In 1922 the family moved to a farm near Wood River. On Aug. 30, 1924, he married Augusta Wiese in Grand Island. They made their home on their farm south of Grand Island all their married life. Mr. Boltz was a general farmer and stockman. He had retired in 1971 due to ill health. Mr. Boltz was a member of the Platt-Duetsche Society. Survivors include his widow; a son, Maynard, and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Stelk, both of Grand Island; three brothers, August of Grand island, Bernhardt of Doniphan and Leo of Wood River; one sister, Mrs. Julius Elstermeier of Grand Island, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
