Joseph William Woods was born in SC. He married Sarah Elizabeth Betsy Dancer, 27 Aug 1829, in Shelby Co, TN. They had eight children. John Elliott Woods 1832 (TN), William David Woods, 1839 (TN), Mary Nancy Woods [Baker] 1843 (TN), Samuel A. Russell Woods 1846 (TX), Martha Jane Woods [Brooks]1852 (TX), E. Catherine Woods [Mayo], Johanna Clementine Florence Woods [Mayo and Lila H. Woods, 1860. Joseph died 1879/1881 and is buried in Bastrop, TX. Possibly buried at Ridgeway Cem. in Paige, Bastrop Co.
