The Biggs News Butte County Reporter Biggs, California 02 Nov 1989, Thu • Page 2 FRANK L. CADEK, SR. Frank L Cadek, Sr., 71, died October 29, 1989, at the N.T. Enloe Memorial Hospital in Chico as a result of a long illness. He was a native of Burwell, Nebraska and was born on December 13, 1917. Mr. Cadek had been a resident of Biggs for over 50 years. He had worked as a construction laborer for over 30 years, prior to his retirement in 1977, and was last employed by the Modern Building Co. of Chico. After his retirement, he worked as a landscape gardener in the Biggs-Gridley area. He was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, two sons ,David Cadek of Biggs, and Frank Cadek, Jr. of Gridley, five daughters, Beverly Hartman of Gridley, Carol Davis of Biggs, Betty Bowles of Challenge, Mary Meeks of Richvale, and Shirley Triplett of Oroville, a sister, Rosie Fhamon of Burwell, Nebraska, a brother, Charlie Cadek of Oroville, and fifteen grand-children. Graveside services will be held tomorrow at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, with Ray William Jeffries of the Biggs United Methodist Church officiating. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel.
