Bio

Lumir Carl Novak, Sr., 91, of rural Pleasant Dale, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, in Crete, Nebraska. He was born to Frank and Julia (Brchan) Novak on a farm in Seward County on March 16, 1924. Lumir lived his entire life on the farm where he was born. He attended school at District 19 in Seward County. Lumir married Ann Havlat on April 27, 1948. To this union, five children were born: Larry, Carolyn, Marilyn, Connie, and Lumir, Jr. Lumir loved life and enjoyed dancing, bowling, having coffee with the guys, eating out, and especially being with his family. He also loved farming, and enjoyed planting, harvesting his crops, and raising cattle. Lumir served on the school board for District 19, the F & M Oil Company, the Pleasant Dale Coop, and the Camden Cemetery. His family was everything to him. He took great pride in each and every one of them. Lumir is survived by: his loving wife of 67 years, Ann; children, Carolyn and Dean Mach, Marilyn and Darrell Williams, Connie and Tom Kalkwarf, Lumir, Jr. and Darlene Novak; 14 grandchildren. 38 great grandchildren. 1 great great grandchild; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry; brothers, Adolph and Evelyn Novak, Bob and Dorothy Novak ; sisters, Helen and Jim Andelt, Alice and Ken Kemper; and great grandson, Royce; Services on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Kuncl Funeral Home, Crete.
