Cihacek, 89, North Bend, died March 29, 2000, at Birchwood Manor, North Bend. Funeral services were held April 1 at St. Charles Catholic Church, North Bend, with Father Daniel Galas officiating. Visitation was March 31 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and April 1 from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel, North Bend. Rosary was recited at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on March 31 at Moser Memorial chapel. Pall bearers were Michael Sobota, Bernard Bunn, Gaylen Swartz, Richard Zuber, Dennis and Gene Cihacek. Burial was at Woodland Cemetery, North Bend. Mrs. Cihacek was born to Frank and Mary (Sloup) Vyhlidal on June 26, 1910 at Morse Bluff. She grew up in the Cedar Hill area near Morse Bluff. She married Emil Cihacek on May 30, 1933. He died May 30, 1980. She and her husband farmed for 40 years near North Bend. They moved into North Bend in 1975. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, North Bend, and St. Ann’s Altar Society. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Gene Sobota, Schuyler; a brother James, North Bend; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Agnes Vyhlidal, Morse Bluff. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank.
