Kayla Chilton Messersmith 1939 - 2016 Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Kayla Chilton Messersmith, passed away peacefully at home following a long illness. She was born in Lehi, Utah, to Eldon and Mina Varney Chilton. She was raised and educated in American Fork. She married David Street and they were blessed with two sons: Rick and Kaylin; they later divorced. She later married Floyd Messersmith and were also blessed with a son, Claude; they were later divorced. After her sons were raised, Kayla moved to Salt Lake City to be with her mother. During these years. she worked in the medical supply and production field. She retired from Merit Medical. Kayla enjoyed spending time caring for her home, garden, watching her hummingbirds, and visiting with friends over a hot cup of coffee. Kayla is survived by her sons: Kaylin (Donna) Street and Claude Messersmith; two sisters: Rolene Crandell and Renee Edgar; as well as her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held at Wing Mortuary 118 E Main Lehi, Utah. Friends are invited to visit with family from 12–2:00 pm. A brief Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 pm.
