Bio

Funeral services for Bessie M. Dobbs, 102, Winnsboro, were held May 17 in the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro with Rev. Henry Suche officiating. A second service was held May 18 in the Megargel Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Ray Grube, officiating. She died May 14, 1998, in a Winnsboro hospital. Mrs. Dobbs was born March 4, 1896, in Farmer County, and was a daughter of the late William T. and Ollie Lee (Young) Richardson. She and W. D. Dobbs were married September 19,1920. He preceded her in death May 9, 1956. She was a housewife and charter member of the Megargel Methodist Church in Megargel, and attended the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro. Survivors include two sons, Bill Dobbs, Mt. Pleasant, and Floyd Lee Dobbs, Nacogdoches; brother, W. J Richardson of Seymour; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Dobbs, in 1968; brother, Ollie Lee Richardson; and sister, Lorena Young. --rec'd from Dorman Holub 2 Apr 2011
